I was amazed how easy it was to borrow an ebook (The Martian - shown in the screen capture) from my library and it was totally seamlessly integrated into the interface - impressive! Kindle - for those of you who are too young to know – replaces all kinds of inadequate archaic reading software we had to use in the past, with a single, robust, intuitive application or device. Also I like the simplicity of downloading pdf's into your Kindle - giving you access to a world of great information from sources such as Your local Public Library, PubMed, NEJM, Project Gutenberg - all examples which have extensive free published work without copyright concerns. I probably won't often read on my laptop but it provides a really useful way of taking notes and doing schoolwork, research using books or pdf's you're writing or researching.
except it is on a bigger screen and in color (my Kindle is the Paperwhite B&W version). Looks just like the Kindle you know and love. You have to sign into your Amazon account to see your books, obviously. The third time I downloaded the program from Amazon again - involves "purchasing" a new copy for $0, which feels a little counterintuitive. Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2020įor some unknowable reason my initial download installed but failed to run correctly (Windows 10).
